OT's Role for Advocating for Sensory Friendly Spaces and Accessible Air Travel
Hello and welcome to my course on advocating for sensory friendly spaces to increase community engagement, including accessible air travel! This course covers my 14 week doctoral capstone project and experience as it discusses the need for increased sensory friendly spaces.
The participants of this course will learn about occupational therapy's role in advocating for inclusive sensory friendly spaces and accessibility for non-visible disabilities, the need for increased community sensory spaces and accessible air travel, community events that promoted advocacy efforts and increased non-visible disability awareness, and the increase in accessibility that adaptations and modifications can provide to community leisure events and air travel.
This course contains lectures, research through a literature review, and resources to support this topic area. Resources are available to be downloaded to support the viewer's learning. Towards the end of the presentation, a quick 4 question knowledge check will be provided to assess your learning gained by viewing this course. This is a short course and should only take approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete.
Thank you for taking the time to look at the course! Please feel free to message the lecturer with any questions, comments, or concerns about the topic. I hope you enjoy the course!
