Although, this is dependent on the results of the first attempt, and is based on the instructor’s discretion.
This exam is used to test an individual's knowledge of forklift operation, safety procedures, and the relevant regulations surrounding forklifts. The forklift certificate will increase compensation anywhere from 10-20% upon successful completion. Forklift certification is required by OSHA to prevent accidents in the workplace. Forklift drivers must have their training evaluated and refreshed every 3 years. A forklift certification is valid in the United States and Canada, and in any other country that uses the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to govern safety training.
Anyone designated by an employer who meets the criteria of 1910.178(l)(2)(iii) can certify forklift operators.
